50 in 52… June Update!

Almost a month ago I wrote a post about my goal to read 50 books this year, and I figured I’d write a monthly update of my progress and highlight the books that I’ve read.

Since last month’s post, I’ve read five books. I finished “Rules of Civility”, enjoyed “The Empty Family”, got bored with “The Marriage Plot”, sped through “Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey”, and was completely enthralled with “The Wandering Falcon”, which I just finished last night. I started the “The Solemn Lanter Maker” and should be done with it by Friday. I’m hoping to hit the 20 book mark by the 15th.

I’ve got about 8 books checked out from NYPL, but am always happy to get recommendations! What’s everyone else reading? Please mention something other than “50 Shades of Grey.”

50 in 52…

At the beginning of 2012, I set a goal of reading 50 books before the year was out. I’m a big reader and read 30 books last year, so I figured a goal of 50 books was ambitious, but still fairly realistic. So long as I read about a book a week, I’d achieve my goal (and ruin my eyesight a tiny bit more).

As we begin the 18th week of this month, I’m slightly disappointed to announce that I’ve only read 13 books so far; you can see them here. I know that I tend to a ton in the summer, so I’m hoping that I can make up for lost ground in the coming months. Either that, or I’ll have to start reading shorter books!

Today I just started “Rules of Civility” and hope to finish it by Friday. What’s everyone else reading these days?
